Our Pre- Kindergarten classroom starts preparing our children for kindergarten. With a small class size of 15, our teacher is able to work with children to get the basic skills they will need for when they go off to school. This classroom does circle time daily, small group time and large group activities.
Some activities offered in the Pre-Kindergarten class include:
- Letter and sound recognition, writing letters and writing our names
- Using our curriculum that aligns with the AZ Early Childhood Guidelines
- Building their social and communication skills through playtime, conflict resolution and group skill building activities
- Learning sight words to build a strong foundation in reading
- Spiritual development with weekly Bible verses and frequent Bible stories
- Working on fine motor skills by holding a pencil with the correct grip, being able to use scissors, tracing and coloring within the lines
- Basic mathematic skills like counting, patterns, sorting and classification
An open line of communication with parents is very important to us! We us a communication app called “Procare”. Teachers are able to send updates and pictures of your child to you throughout the day in a safe and secure way.
